Or near the water, beach, dock or bay — at sunrise (too early?) or sunset for that golden glow.

If you are looking for those sunny, beautiful sunsets — we call them the “golden hour” which happens prior to sunset. There’s a very specific time of day when you’re able to have that extra glow added to your images. Here we were capturing a graduating senior with his trumpet at Groveland Park on Mercer Island. Scheduling your senior portrait session means finding a day, date, and time when your senior can relax and enjoy the photography session, including any travel to their desired location. That session date could be either on a weekday or weekend, depending on your senior’s schedule. Looking ahead is very helpful, as parts of the high school senior year can be very busy. So think ahead, and make that session date a good fit for your high school senior, so he or she will have time to think about it, prepare their wardrobe choices, and come with a willing spirit.
