Mitzvah Portraits: Temple De Hirsch Sinai
Bar Mitzvah Portraits | Seattle, Washington | Temple De Hirsch Sinai
How about a bit of Seattle history–are you aware that Temple De Hirsch was founded in 1899—and is perhaps the largest Reform congregation in the Pacific Northwest?
Parts of the old Temple De Hirsch building (or Old Sanctuary) still remain—these columns provided the perfect backdrop for a blend of old & new, traditional & contemporary. Buildings are reminders of where we’ve come from —and where participants meet for connecting.
We were so pleased to celebrate this bar mitzvah’s portrait session on a glorious spring day outside Temple De Hirsch Sinai. We started with the oldest parts of the temple, then walked down a vibrant street, and round the corner to the newer Alhadeff sanctuary. Happy voices from nearby school children floated through the air, reminding us of the connections between families, community, temple. You’ll see more of our bar mitzvah’s service in our next post, so enjoy!
