Wherever your wedding is held—-indoors, outdoors, church or community center or hotel or beach or park—- it becomes your playground for the day and evening. It’s where you settle in, where moments happen, where you share time together, a ceremony, a meal, a celebration. This happy couple chose the Swans Trail Farms in Snohomish, right across from the Snohomish River. A meadow, a pond, blossoms everywhere in the heart of farmland on a spectacular May day. Moments that become memories: the bride pulled me aside when she was getting ready to show me her grandparents rings which were part of her day. The bride’s father teared up when he saw his daughter before the ceremony. The bride and groom exchanged gifts (no peeking at each other!) but waited until the ceremony to see each other. That split second as she came down the aisle, they made eye contact, and they both had tears in their eyes. The hugs and congratulations after a joyful ceremony—and everyone wiped their eyes again. And then the celebration began —– a meal, several toasts, and a cake to cut. The dancing could have lasted all night. Later, much later, a break for a sweet kiss with the softly setting sun, a mini marshmallow roast, and a hilarious send off.
