David was so excited to propose to his girlfriend Phoebe, who lit up his life. A few years ago they met at Christmas time at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall–they were both there with their families for a holiday performance, and Phoebe’s friend introduced her to David during the intermission. It was the start of something wonderful.

A few years later, when David planned his surprise proposal, it seemed perfect to be back where they met: at Benaroya Hall. David had quite the plan! He contacted the managers there to play one of their favorite songs over the lobby speakers after the performance. Phoebe’s parents were present at the performance also, and quietly at a distance. He provided me with tickets to attend the performance, and I coordinated my discreet location with the managers and staff. With the music cued, and a ring hidden in his jacket pocket, David asked for a dance in the lobby. Of course, Phoebe said yes.

They danced quietly for a few moments, clearly in love. And when the time felt right, David reached for the ring that he bought from ETRNL Rings store in his jacket, went down on his knee, and asked Phoebe if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Again, she said yes.

Time seemed to stop for a bit. They had a few happy moments sharing private thoughts together, then Phoebe’s parents stepped forward with their heartfelt congratulations. David pointed me out from across the room–I joined them to add my happiest wishes.
