Lauren & Sten met a few years ago when Sten moved from Telluride, Colorado to Bellingham, Washington to attend WWU. Lauren says “Thank goodness for Levi and Disney! Wearing an oversized jacket, Sten spilled into his friend Levi’s apartment and into my life. We met for the first time the same night he arrived in Bellingham, although our greeting was just a shy hello from a distance. A few weeks later, I asked Sten if he would watch Disney movies with me, and, well, he agreed!” Sten says “I took Lauren to Friday Harbor for a night away on a sailboat bed and breakfast. After a delicious dinner, we stopped to admire the beautiful view. I bent down to present a home made ring box, the expression on her face will never be forgotten (unlike the actual asking of the question, which in the moment I completely forgot to say). But despite it all, she said yes!”

This special wedding was brimming with friends, family, and friends who become family over the years. Happiness & joy. Lauren & Sten incorporated a Jewish wedding “house” ring made by her grandmother and they both broke glasses at the ceremony together. A fantastic maid of honor toast (the best I’ve ever heard), wild horah dancing (Sten popped out of his uplifted chair), food and fun and a green signature cocktail drink (very very green! basil, lemonade and gin) and a stunningly good cake that was driven from another state down to a final kiss while being cheered on with sparklers under the starry night sky.
