Wine Country | A Cake for Her, A Cake for Him

An exquisitely beautiful morning. Oh, you’re sitting next to a vineyard and a grove of olive trees with birds chirping cheerfully. That moment when you hear a little whiff—-a whuff—-a sound of air blowing. You gasp suddenly in surprise at hot air balloons overhead, gently soaring. I set a personal best speed record for the 50-yard dash to retrieve my camera from inside our accomodations so when you see this first image, just imagine how close they were originally.  That’s how my day began as we prepared for a beautiful destination wedding.

We arrived later at the Sonoma Golf Club at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and admired the arches and tiled stairways and adobe-style buildings. The rolling landscapes and hills.  The sunshine and mild temperatures. Our bride and groom had a marvelous wedding with an outdoor ceremony, courtyard reception, and indoor dinner and dancing. There were some strong ties to Texas (check out his cake) and a lot of banter—and later, dancing and more dancing. My thanks to Hildebrand Photography for including me in this incredible day.
