Skansonia Labor Day Wedding
Skansonia Wedding
Labor Day Wedding | North Lake Union
A Labor Day wedding? This amazing couple did just that on a beautifully mild day with gorgeous skies. They were joyful, happy, relaxed, & wonderful–they strolled through Gasworks Park together for quiet moments prior to the start of their ceremony. They then joined their family & friends aboard the MV Skansonia on North Lake Union overlooking the Seattle skyline, the Needle, and the waterfront.
There are weddings that truly reflect the heart of the couple. Like this one. They combined traditions from both sides of the families: bell ringing & wrapping of hands with ribbons during the ceremony, circling each other during the ceremony & standing beneath an arch that reminds us of a chuppah, prayers and blessings & vows. And oh the dancing: Irish line dancing & a Horah & a some of the best moves ever.
Another warm personal detail: the bride & groom organized images of each person–when the guests sat down, they found envelopes filled with images of themselves to enjoy–such a warm & personal expression of their connection with their invited loved ones. And time seemed to slow down for them to enjoy moments: our bride peeking out to see the gathered guests, her parents greeting her at the foot of the stairwell, the groom & bride’s heartfelt thanks to their guests over dinner toasts. Their glowing happiness when together — It was truly my honor to be part of their day — a huge thank you to Libby Lewis Photography for having me join in. I can’t wait for this couple to enjoy years of happiness ahead! Congratulations to them both–
